PSG voices support for international student immigration

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Purdue Student Government supported a resolution to expand green cards to international students studying at American universities.

President Pro-Tempore Zachary Briggs, who authored the bill, said the bill was needed to retain the talent that international students bring to American universities.

When asked about adding competition for American graduates who are struggling to find jobs, he said most of the international students graduate with science, technology, engineering and mathematics degrees. Since he said there is not a lot competition in those fields, we need these students to be part of a new generation of innovators.
