Panelists discuss growth, acceptance of Asian community

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Asian and Asian-American students and faculty discussed their experiences at Purdue and what positive changes they can make for the future.

The Asian Pacific American Caucus held its first event of the week on Tuesday, discussing “Being Asian and Asian American at Purdue.”

A group of presenters included Ei-Ichi Negishi, Herbert C. Brown distinguished professor of chemistry; Song No, an associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts; Wei Hong, a professor of Chinese; Rebecca Wong, a psychologist at Counseling and Psychological Services at Purdue; Patrocinio Schweickart, a professor of English and women’s studies; Adlina Maulod, a graduate student in the College of Liberal Arts; and Victoria Loong, a junior in the Colleges of Health and Human Sciences and Liberal Arts.
