Malaysian Night introduces students to a rich culture

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - The Purdue Malaysian Students Association treated students to a buffet, a play and a wedding Saturday night, all in the name of diversity.

Malaysian Night, a tradition running annually through the last decade, has always been about exposing new people to Malaysian culture. This year a long-form skit filled that role. Humor with no cultural barriers peppered the skit, and four high-energy traditional dance numbers were the skit’s focal points.

Students and non-students from many backgrounds showed up for the skit in Fowler Hall. Morgan Berninger, a freshman in the College of Education, went out to the event with no real expectations.
