WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - The chairman of faculty senate said he’s pleased with the number of faculty President Mitch Daniels has already met before Daniels’ first official day.

Professor J. Paul Robinson said Daniels has met with at least 200 faculty members and 90 faculty senators. During Daniels’ first week, he’s scheduled meetings that encompass the many facets of a research-focused university.

Robinson is happy with the amount of time Daniels has spent with the faculty and thinks the first year of Daniels’ term will be spent getting adjusted to higher education. Daniels also will be focused on receiving the faculty’s input for decisions involving them.
