WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - The vice provost for undergraduate academic affairs said he thinks the University should focus more on educating its students than creating a new grade policy.
University of Notre Dame, Princeton University and Swarthmore College are all combating grade inflation by limiting the percentage of students being able to receive As. Princeton University adopted a policy in 2004 that states no more than 35 percent of students in one course can receive an A.
A. Dale Whittaker, vice provost for undergraduate academic affairs, said Purdue has been consistent with its cumulative grade point averages.
