Presidential debate viewing party sparks contrasting opinions among students

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Clapping and gasps of surprise came from the crowd of students as they watched the third and final presidential debate between President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Monday night.

Pi Sigma Alpha, the political science honorary society, hosted a viewing party for the debate; around 40 people attended. Political science associate professor Keith Shimko spoke to the group of students before the start of the debate, pointing out key ideas he thought would make a difference.

Shimko stated it would be difficult to establish major differences in the policies that each candidate planned to implement.
