Daniels transitions from governor to president

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - He’s dabbled in the private sector, served eight years as governor of Indiana. Now, Mitch Daniels is preparing to take on the world of academia.

President Daniels doesn’t have a policy-focused agenda for his first weeks on campus, which starts Jan. 14, but rather he’s got a list of questions he needs answered before he’ll push for any kind of change.

Over the phone, Daniels listed areas where he either has concerns or just isn’t familiar with that particular area of the University. These areas include: expansion of the engineering program, the trimester system, the role of entrepreneurship and administrative costs, to name a few.
