WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Finding a similarity between battling breast cancer and hockey isn’t an easy task, but according to the Purdue Ice Hockey Club, it isn’t a stretch at all.
2013 marks the club’s third year partnering with the Susan G. Komen Foundation for their last game of the season, a tradition they don’t intend to stop any time soon.
Patrick McCrum, a junior in the College of Engineering and president of the club, said that he is very passionate about doing this community service event and was proud to carry on the tradition this year. $10,000 was donated last year, an amount the team is striving to surpass on Saturday in their match-up against Robert Morris University in Kankakee, Ill.
