WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - In wake of Neil Armstrong’s death, the Purdue community gathered for a memorial to show Boilermaker pride and honor a legend.

On Monday, Purdue Student Government hosted a memorial service in honor of the late astronaut for a packed lawn of students, alumni, faculty and community members in front of Armstrong Hall of Engineering.

Joe Rust, PSG president, began planning a memorial service after a number of students contacted him and PSG, wanting to honor the Purdue alumnus.
