The thought of producing a product that would not only provide a useful service to people but also encourage autism awareness, produced a spark with a Purdue alumnus to go through with the idea.
Mike Leister and his team of specialists began working on the idea of a cooler that would not only keep drinks cool, but also look cool. Leister wanted to make a product, the ICE Block Cooler, from which funds would help support autism organizations and the product itself would be a practical tool to use in a house, at a business or outside. Leister thought this idea had great potential and didn’t want to pass up the chance to produce it.
“I would have so many ideas and I was tired of forgetting them,” he said. “I inspired myself to write them on note cards and stick them on a wall. I was determined one day that I would build a product.”
The ICE Block Cooler is a six-slot can and bottle cooler, designed to look as if it was carved out of ice, that lights up blue when it is chilling.
