Shelby Johnson 2012 Golden Apple

People grow through experience, if they meet life honestly and courageously. This is how character is built.  Shelby Johnson goes above and beyond with her students to increase the enthusiasm for learning in her classroom.  Shelby a Special Education teacher at West Lafayette High School is decried as a teacher who is very interactive with her students and tailors her interactions to meet each student's individual needs.  Shelby's students know what to expect from her, she encourages them so they know if they do something right and have an accomplishment they can really own that and be proud of it for themselves.  Shelby's hard work and dedication is greatly respected not only by her students and their parents but also by everyone at West Lafayette High School.
