WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - The Salvation Army and WLFI conducted The Tools for School program, offering free school supplies and clothing for children who attend school within Tippecanoe and Benton County.
The event took place on Saturday, August 13, from 9:00 am – 12:00 noon.
To support this effort, WLFI, Regions Bank, Subway, Bob Rohrman Subaru and Millers Flooring America accepted school supplies July 25 -August 7. Supplies includeed: Prang watercolor paints, school boxes (8 ½ x5 ¼ x 2 ¼), black/blue Expo dry erase markers, #2 pencils, notebook filler paper (both college and wide rule) new backpacks, and assorted colors of paper and plastic two pocket folders with/without prongs.
Donations were dropped off at any participating Regions Bank, Subway, Bob Rohrman Subaru, Millers Flooring America or The Salvation Army.
Financial donations were accepted at the Salvation Army and used to purchase any shortage of supplies. The Salvation Army expected to help over 700 area children with school supplies.
