Mike Prangley joined News Channel 18 in March of 1999. He came to the Hoosier State from WPDE-TV 15 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina because he knew some of the best weather in the world to forecast is in the Midwest! Mike holds the National Weather Association Seal of Approval and is a member of the American Meteorological Society..
Mike attended Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont for meteorology where he learned hands-on forecasting and researched at Mount Washington, New Hampshire which is known to have the world's worst weather and highest recorded wind gust. Mike finished his broadcast meteorology degree at Mississippi State. He also has a broadcast journalism degree from the University of North Florida.

The weather is constantly changing and I can definitely enjoy the change of seasons and sometimes all in one day!"
Mike is married, has three children and lives in Lafayette, IN. Mike and his family love taking advantage of Lafayette's great family community by going to the many parks and year-round events it has to offer. He plays basketball, jogs, is a patient golfer, and even loves tennis. He also enjoys speaking to schools and many area groups and clubs and volunteers time to charity.
