Alex Deiro joined WLFI in June of 2010 following her graduation from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where she earned a degree in broadcast journalism and a minor in Spanish.
Alexandra calls Ventura California home although she grew up in Alpharetta, GA and St. Albans, England. Alexandra is now loving her time in the Midwest and enjoys meeting all of the friendly people here.
Alexandra began journalism in earnest when she was hired on at the Daily Illini on air and WPGU. There she worked as a reporter, entertainment editor and morning co-host. Alexandra first experienced a television newsroom as an intern at KEYT in Santa Barbara in 2007. She recieved her first taste of national and international news as an Intern at CNN International in Atlanta over the summer of 2009 where she worked on various international programs, wrote stories for Impact your World, and worked long hours during the coverage of Michael Jackson's passing.
This is Alexandra's first job as a multi-platform journalist and she is so grateful, excited and happy to be getting her start in the wonderful community of Greater Lafayette.
