We are kicking off Friday with mainly cloudy skies across the viewing area. Precision 18 Radar picked up on a few flurries this morning. The snow showers will were very light and did not last all day. The cloud cover will break up a bit through the afternoon with peeks of sunshine by the evening commute. Temperatures will also warm up into the mid-30s today, which is a couple degrees shy of the average for mid-December.

Skies will become mostly cloudy late in the evening and linger through the overnight hours. Lows will fall into the mid to lower 20s tonight.

The first half of the weekend looks quiet and sunny. Temperatures will also rise back into the mid to upper 40s. However, another system will arrive on Sunday and it will bring a round of rain showers for Sunday. Rain totals look minor with this system and may produce about 0.10” of rain in Lafayette.
