WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — The West Lafayette Police Department just gained two new officers. Officer Jayden Fackelman and Nadine Tillawi were sworn in Tuesday morning at the Morton Community Center. Both were able to share this experience with their friends, family, and new coworkers.

Fackelman grew up in West Lafayette and is a recent graduate of Purdue University. Tillawi has worked in West Lafayette before and looks forward to meeting people who live in the area.

"It's actually amazing to know that I'm going to have a great support system and that my family is here and friends are here. It's a really good thing. JF: It's one thing to think about it, but it's another thing to actually be here and seeing and going through the ceremony and getting my badge handed to me. It's not something you can put into words." said Nadine Tillawi.

Both officers started working yesterday and will now go through police training. They will attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in June and are expected to graduate in September.
