Some fidget spinners may contain dangerous amounts of lead

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) — A warning for parents and fidget spinner users. They may contain high levels of lead.

The U.S. Public Interest Research Group tested 12 fidget spinners sold at Target stores across the country.

Two of those came back with high levels of lead. One had 300 times higher than the legal limit. And they are still on the shelves at Target.

The retailer says those particular spinners are targeted for kids over 14, so they are not subject to the stricter safety standards of toys for younger kids.

But the Marion County Health Department says you shouldn't take any chances when it comes to lead and the effect it can have on kids.
