TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office has not one, but two new K-9 units.

Deputy Lenny Popp came to the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's department from Delaware County with his dog, Vegas.

Then in October, Deputy Jonathan Ringo was picked to become a second K-9 handler.

He's now working with K-9 Britt.

The dogs are trained in a wide variety of uses including narcotics detection, tracking, and apprehension.

Both teams are in training now.

Once training is complete, Deputies Popp and Ringo will resume their patrol duties.

They will work opposite rotations on 12-hour shifts which allows a K-9 unit to be scheduled to work every day.
