WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI/Exponent) — West Lafayette Police have arrested a man accused of stabbing his former roommate in a McDonald's parking lot. Brendan Ryder was arrested and faces a preliminary felony count of battery with a deadly weapon.

According to Police, Purdue University and West Lafayette police departments responded to a 3:31 a.m. call Wednesday that a man was allegedly stabbed in an unknown location, police say.

Ryder saw the victim inside the McDonald's and confronted him when he came out. The two fought in the parking lot. Ryder then pulled out an ink pen and stabbed the victim once in the head and once in the shoulder.

Police confirmed Ryder was the aggressor by watching surveillance camera footage.

The incident is still under investigation.
