Bars across Greater Lafayette are running food and drink specials for football fans. Some restaurants are also featuring carry out specials for parties. Graham Vandegrift is a bartender at DT Kirby's in Lafayette. He said they expect a good turnout even without a local team playing in this year's game.

Mercer Bilbo said Digby's looks forward to the game every year.

"This is a really big business day for us we have multiple parties already set up."

Although there is one trick that a few bars deal with each year. Vandegrift said the teams who play in the game do matter for local fans.

"Even though none of our Chicago teams are playing this year, I mean it's still the Super Bowl and let's be serious it is a modern day American holiday."

Die hard fans like Dan Beckefield say he planned his Super Bowl Sunday according to the teams that made the game.

"If the Bears were in the Super Bowl right now darn right, I'd be right here at DT Kirby's, I'd be up here until the game was over."
