According to LPD, dozens of packages and burglaries happen in Lafayette, following Cyber Monday.

If you are expecting deliveries, LPD suggests having a neighbor or relative pick up or sign for your packages.

Also, have your packages delivered to your workplace instead of your home address.

"I recommend never hiding anything of value in your vehicle. Because it's not the most secure place in the world even if the windows are locked, there has definitely been reports throughout the year of people breaking windows and gaining entry to vehicles that way,” said Officer Ian O’Shields. "As a neighbor always be looking out for suspicious vehicles, suspicious people in the area. Make sure you report that to Lafayette Police immediately, I wouldn't wait."

As always, if you see any suspicious people or vehicles in your neighborhood, you are encouraged to call police.
