The Crime Prevention Unit showed off their second Subaru Outback with its new decals.

Subaru of Indiana Automotive donated the cars and the wraps to the City of Lafayette.

The Crime Prevention Unit aims to build stronger bonds between LPD and the community.

Specialist Ian O'Shields says these Outbacks are conversation starters.

"We're doing everything we can to reach out to the community, build stronger relationships between the community and the police because as police, we wouldn't be able to do out job without the community," said O'Shields.

The cars are mainly used for community events and not for actual police patrols.
