HOWARD COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — Police in Kokomo are looking for a man they say held a woman captive and raped her.

Police say Gary Perkins hit a woman over the head, confined her to a bed and raped her before taking off.

It happened Monday inside a home in Kokomo.

It took 12 hours for the woman to get free and call for help.

Police say Perkins is on the run and may be driving a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan.

The van Perkins is believed to be driving is blue and has Indiana plates 644TJZ.

Perkins should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is a registered sex offender and was convicted of rape 20 years ago.

Anyone who sees him should immediately call 911.
