Guidance counselor fired after arrest

A guidance counselor at New Palestine High School has been fired following her arrest.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) — A guidance counselor at New Palestine High School has been fired following her arrest.
Police are accusing her of stealing medication while on the job. Michelle Long was taken into custody yesterday.
She faces one preliminary charge of theft.

School officials called police after medication was found missing from a locked cabinet in the nurse's office.

There's still no word on how she was caught, but the school says security in its clinics will be increased.
