BOONE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A bridge in Boone County has collapsed after a run-in with heavy farm equipment.

A deputy was called to the scene on Holiday Road Saturday afternoon. The deputy found a John Deere tractor and its attachment on the collapsed bridge.

The driver of the tractor said he didn't realize the attachment was wider than the bridge. The bridge collapsed when he was nearly across it.

The driver was not injured.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office does not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor. It's currently providing 24-hour security at the bridge.
