LAFAYETTE, Ind. WLFI) — The city of Lafayette completed its annual Department Decorating Contest this weekend.

Members of the Records, Police and Parks departments all participated.

Funds for the event were raised by donations from neighbors.

Records technician Ali Callahan says this is a great way to have fun while giving back to the community.

"It makes us all feel great that we're able to contribute, and that means it's a hard time for some people who are disadvantaged, so we can take some donations and get some clothing and get it to people that need them," said Callahan.

The police department won the contest this year with a "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" theme.
