Couple charged for allegedly beating and robbing man

A Kokomo couple is formally charged after an incident where a Battle Ground man was allegedly beaten up, confined and robbed.

BATTLE GROUND, Ind. (WLFI) — A Kokomo couple is formally charged after an incident where a Battle Ground man was allegedly beaten up, confined and robbed.

Dakota and Nicole Horn face eight felony charges including robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and criminal confinement.

Deputies were called to the 100 block of North Railroad Street in Battle Ground on Nov. 26.

Prosecutors said Dakota Horn had been hired as a handyman. He's accused of striking the homeowner on the head with a hammer, taking his debit card and tying him up with an extension cord.

Prosecutors said Dakota Horn gave the card to Nicole Horn. She allegedly used the card to withdraw $400 from an ATM at the Family Express on North Ninth Street and Duncan Road. 

The victim had a near one-inch depression in his skull from the hit. He underwent emergency surgery to address his injury. 

According to online court records, both Dakota and Nicole Horn are out on bond and due back in court in May.

-Conspiracy to commit criminal confinement
-Fraud
-Theft misdemeanor
