Goodrich Quality's Eastside 9 could be closed for up to two months while the transformer is replaced.

The building's electrical system was also damaged.

Eastside 9 employees are temporarily working at Lafayette 7 and Wabash Landing 9 theaters until the power is back on.

General Manager Craig Rittenhouse asks moviegoers to be patient while the right equipment is shipped and installed.

"It's not stuff that's typically just stocked. So it has to be made to order. We have to make sure of that. We want to make sure the equipment is good for a new building that we are going to be building. We don't want to have to replace. We want to make sure it's adaptable," said Rittenhouse.

He said his biggest concerns are his customers.

"I'm glad we got through the holidays. It's a very busy time. That would be terrible to ruin people's holidays by not being open for their movies. Right now we are just trying to take care of the frustrated customers. It is frustrating," said Rittenhouse.

Eastside 9 is scheduled for demolition in 2018.

It will be replaced with a new multiplex including an IMAX theater.

A bar serving adult beverages is also planned.
