Fire crews were called around 10 a.m. Thursday to the Marathon station on Morehouse Road and Sagamore Parkway.
A gas delivery driver was filling an underground tank when the locking mechanism on the hose failed. The gas spilled out onto the parking lot and into a storm sewer.

Crews cleaned up the spill using hazardous materials and vacuumed out the storm sewer. They were able to contain the gas before it escaped the sewer.

Police told people to avoid the area during the clean up due to fumes.
