A variety of apples have been pulled off the shelves due to the threat of listeria.

The products came from Jack Brown Produce Inc., in Michigan. The grower issued the recall after samples at one of its suppliers showed contamination.

Aldi says all of the affected products have been removed, but customers who have purchased apples on or after Dec. 13 should check labels to make sure they are not included in the recall.

The apples are packed under the brand name "Apple Ridge."

The recall includes Fuji, Gala, Golden and Honeycrisp apple varieties. The Fuji, Gala and Golden apples were solid in 3-pound bags. The Honeycrisp apples were sold individually and in 2-pound bags.

•Fuji Apples, 3 lb. bag, UPC code: 033383087139

•Gala Apples, 3 lb. bag, UPC code: 033383086897

Anyone who purchased the products can return them to Aldi for a full refund.
