WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Professors think not showing up to class on syllabus week is enough reason to drop students early on.
Faculty and administration met Monday afternoon to discuss grading policies as well as when it is appropriate to add or drop classes and how doing so affects students' transcripts when they are applying for jobs after graduation.
Withdrawing from a class within the first few weeks of the semester and having a "W" on students' transcripts may lessen their chances of getting a job after graduation because they might seem indecisive. Some professors argued that students are indecisive simply because they don't do their research on a class before the semester starts.
