WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - “You turned a house into a home,” said Christine Taylor, vice provost for diversity on Monday, referencing the Luther VanDross song “A house is not a home” and what had been accomplished at the Latino Cultural Center.
After nine years of working at the house which is the Latino Cultural Center, it was time to say good bye to Maricela Alvarado, the center’s director during Monday’s farewell reception.
Over 50 people all of races and ethnicities came to honor Alvarado and her accomplishments while she served as director of the Latino Cultural Center. Among those that were in attendance to say their “good byes” to Alvarado included Provost Tim Sands and Taylor.
