WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (Exponent) - Theta Tau and Rube Goldberg Inc. are in disagreement over the direction of the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest.
The Rube Goldberg competition started 31 years ago at Purdue as an engineering competition between two Purdue fraternities: Theta Tau and Triangle. Since then, Theta Tau has hosted the competition, but may not continue to do so, according to Clive Townsend, the president of Theta Tau.
"Will there be a Rube Goldberg competition next year ... the answer to that is undecided," Townsend said.
