Barbara Cook, former dean of students, of West Lafayette passed away at age 83 at 8:31 a.m. on April 10, 2013, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community in Mulberry, Ind.
Cook came to Purdue in 1956 after graduating from the University of Arkansas in 1951. She earned her Ph.D. in counseling and personnel services in 1967 and became the new dean of students in 1980 and remained in her position until 1987. She soon retired after teaching in the College of Education for two years in 1989.
